Frankly, I thought about running a wire brush over that part and painting over, but may do more harm than good. This device is being sold as-is but I will offer a 14-day return period if dissatisfied for any reason. For your consideration an original stereo cd am fm head unit from a 2005 C6 z51 Corvette.

I simply wanted a more robust system. It does show a small amount of rust on the rear passenger side, but is only surface rust, case sound.

The C6 was produced from 2005 thru 2013 and will fit all of those years.
